Expo Square

What is now known as Expo Square started as the Tulsa County Free Fair in 1903 and was located at the Western Association baseball park. Over the years, millions of dollars have gone into improvements and now the facilities include exhibit space, a racetrack, and the Big Splash Water Park, among other things. There are more than four hundred events held there each year and whether you're taking a break from working in a London Ontario vet clinic with your significant other or have just moved to Tulsa with your whole family, this is an attraction that you should definitely check out.

When you first approach Expo Square you will certainly notice the 76-foot Golden Driller outside. This is to commemorate the time from 1966 to the 1980s when the site was also the home to the International Petroleum Exposition. This monument weighs more than forty thousand pounds and is something to behold, whether you're an engineering student or working with duplex strainers on a factory floor.

Then you can move on to the architectural gem with the historic Pavilion, which has been around since 1932. It is used as an ice service, a concert venue, and a basketball court when needed. There are also several equestrian events held each year at the outstanding livestock and equine facilities. From international horse shows to races, you will find that everything one might need is here. That could be livestock waterers or places for the animals to rest between events.

For those that are planning a large event in the Tulsa area, you might be intrigued by the fact that the QuikTrip Center is one of the largest clean span buildings in the whole world. It has 350,000 square feet of column-free space and uses a cable-suspended roof. Whether you're planning a conference on international fitness with presenters from fitness gyms Toronto to Tokyo or are hosting a large ball, this might be the perfect place.

There is so much fun to be had at Expo Square for people of all ages. If you're here in the summer with a whole collection of kids than you should take some time at Big Splash Water Park. And if it's a little colder outside you could enjoy some of the races at the track or go to the events calendar to see what acts and festivals are coming through.

Expo Square is located in midtown on East 21st Street. There are facilities available for a small dinner for a girls hockey tournament or a huge charity concert with one of the area's top artists. There are catering and concession services for those that need it if booking their own event on site. For more information, visit the Expo Square website.
